Deсlaration of goods when leaving the European Union


If travellers have with them:

  • goods of a non-commercial nature,
  • goods of a commercial nature, with the value not exceeding 1,000 euros, or in quantities not exceeding 1,000 kg,

then they must declare their goods by giving the oral declaration or by certain other acts (going through the green or "nothing to declare" channel or going through a customs office which does not operate a green/red channel system).

If travellers have with them:

  • goods of a commercial nature, with the value exceeding 1,000 euros, or in quantities exceeding 1,000 kg,
  • goods and personal effects subject to export restrictions,

then these must be declared by a customs declaration:

Any natural person leaving the European Union and carrying cash of a value of 10,000 euros or more or the equivalent in other currencies or bearer-negotiable instruments (e.g. promissory notes, shares, traveller’s cheques or other similar means of payment) has to declare it to the customs.
