It will no longer be possible to communicate with the Estonian state using email addresses ending in .ru in the same way as before

30.06.2026 | 12:34

From 31 August 2026, emails sent from addresses ending in .ru will no longer reach state agencies as usual; instead, they will be subject to additional screening.

If you use a .ru email address, we recommend that you switch to another reliable email address (for example, one with a .ee, .com, .eu, or other domain extension) as soon as possible.

Please then update your email address in the e-MTA e-services environment as well: after signing in, select “Settings” – “Contact details” from the menu. Contact details updated in the e-services environment are forwarded to the population register, from which other agencies that use population register data can also obtain up-to-date information.

We ask legal persons to update their email address in the e-Business Register, from which the information about the change will also be forwarded to other state agencies.

You can also update your contact details by calling or writing to us. If you contact us by phone or email, please provide your personal identification code or registry code.

More information is available on the website of the Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs (in Estonian).
